Graham Potter’s On Wednesday night, Chelsea crushed the Scudetto champions to earn their first Champions League victory of the year as Blues supporters praised a certain player in particular.

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, Chelsea hosted AC Milan in their third match in the Champions League group stage at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were seeking for their first victory in Europe this campaign after dropping points in each of their first two games, which pushed Graham Potter’s team to the bottom of their group.

The first 20 minutes of the game were completely controlled by the Blues, who also had some good scoring opportunities.

And four minutes later, the hosts were rewarded after the club’s summer signing Wesley Fofana tucked home from a corner kick to open the scoring and put Chelsea 1-0 ahead.

The Blues continued to dominate and thought they had doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute with Mason Mount finding the back of the net.

However, Mount’s attempt was promptly disallowed for offside, maintaining the Blues’ one-goal advantage.

The Blues’ goal scorer Fofana, who was forced off due to injury minutes before halftime, was replaced by Trevor Chalobah, which proved to be a blow for the hosts.

However, just before halftime, Rafael Leao’s shot was saved by Kepa, and the rebound from Krunic was missed over the crossbar. This gave the visitors a chance to get back into the game.

However, Chelsea held a slim 1-0 advantage at halftime as the visitors hoped for a comeback in the second half.

Instead, Graham Potter’s team increased their lead in the second half as Reece James found Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, who scored Chelsea’s second goal of the game in the 56th minute.

The Blues’ most impressive performance under new manager Graham Potter saw the hosts maintain their dominance.

In the end, Chelsea won 3-0 to pick up their first victory in their European campaign, while Stefano Pioli’s team just had no answers on the night and suffered their first champions league loss this season.
